Temple Dog is a Canadian non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of Indigenous dogs in Nepal. Our areas of specialization include rescue, disaster preparedness and response and preservation of Nepal’s Indigenous dogs.
Temple Dog Rescue
Rescue, rehabilitation and finding loving homes for Nepal's free-roaming dogs have been at the heart of Temple Dog Rescue since 2018. We specialize in helping dogs who can no longer survive on the streets, providing the veterinary care, rehabilitation and individual attention they need to begin new lives.
Working with local rescuers, veterinarians and international partners, we manage every stage of their journey, including the complex logistics of international adoption.
The Doghouse Project
The Doghouse Project was created to bring food, medical care and emergency relief to companion animals living in remote, disaster-prone regions of Nepal.
Our vision is to establish a network of bases, which we call doghouses, in mountain villages connected by trails and located within a few days’ walk of one another.
Preserving Nepal’s Indigenous Dogs
Nepal is home to ancient indigenous dog populations whose genetic diversity, adaptations and relationships with human communities represent thousands of years of shared history. We believe understanding and protecting these remarkable dogs is essential to preserving Nepal's living heritage.
