Temple Dog RED
Research, education and development of technology in the areas of dog management and care are at the centre of RED. Kathmandu, Nepal plays an important role in better understanding the behaviours of dogs in their natural environments, living in socialized communities among humans, but autonomously. Our research on street dogs in this densely populated and well-defined area of ancient breed animals will be performed with the intent to elevate standards of care for free-roaming dogs around the world.
The areas of focus are: infectious disease research and its impact on free-roaming dog populations, media campaigns created to inform and inspire a change in perception of stray dogs in local populations, and the development of technology to improve tracking of free-roaming dog populations.
